atsec China Becomes the First Foreign-Invested, Independent, Commercial IT Security Laboratory Accredited by CNAS
2011-01-10Beijing, China - atsec China is pleased to announce its successful accreditation by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (hereinafter referred to as CNAS) based on “CNAS-CL01:2006 Accreditation Criteria for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratory (the Chinese translation of ISO/IEC 17025:2005).”
atsec China is the first foreign-invested, independent, commercial laboratory in the area of IT security evaluations to be accredited by CNAS. This accreditation follows a successful documentation review of atsec China’s quality management system and an on-site assessment conducted by the Chinese IT security experts at CNAS. Laboratory accreditation is a third-party attestation of atsec China’s proficiency in conducting IT security evaluations within the defined scope. With the addition of this accreditation, atsec is better positioned to serve our global customers.
Mr. Shi Cao, Director of the Laboratory Assessment Department at CNAS said, “CNAS is a member of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) and uses the same laboratory accreditation criteria as the other ILAC countries. Since atsec has gained lab accreditations in the US, Germany, and Sweden, its recent accreditation in China is a natural result, reconfirming that atsec’s laboratory conforms with the international standard. atsec China becoming an accredited laboratory is good news to Chinese vendors because they now have more laboratories to select from to meet their needs. atsec, as a global company, provides services to a broader spectrum of the customers than the native Chinese laboratories. Having an accredited laboratory in China enables them to bring their customers to China, which will enrich the Chinese IT industry.”
Yan Liu, atsec China’s Chief Operations Officer commented: “We began the process of CNAS laboratory accreditation for atsec China in mid-2009. I would like to thank the CNAS auditor team, especially Mr. Shi Cao for his responsiveness and courage in accepting the challenges of such an initial accreditation. Thanks also goes to the atsec employees and management teams, and our customers who all made contributions toward the successful completion of this activity. atsec aims to bridge the gap between China and other countries in the area of IT security technology. atsec is passionate about contributing its professionalism to the worldwide IT security industry.”
