Charter Introduction & Purpose

This is the charter for the mailing list [cc@lists.atsec.com] hosted at lists.atsec.com and offered as a free service to the international -common criteria and IT- security community.

This list shall serve as a platform for the discussion of aspects of the practical use of the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC) aka ISO 15408 for security evaluations.

[cc@lists.atsec.com] is hosted by atsec information security (http://www.atsec.com) and offered as a free service to the international security community. Please note that atsec has no commercial interest in providing this service other than contributing to the discussion and propagation of the Common Criteria standard.

Subscription Information

Subscribing to the list is done by sending Mail to <cc-subscribe@lists.atsec.com>.
You will then have to reply to an confirmation Mail, in order to get fully subscribed.

Unsubscribing is done by simply sending a Mail to <cc-unsubscribe@lists.atsec.com>.
Take care to send it from the same address you used to subscribe.

In case you experience problems with the list, send mail to <cc-owner@lists.atsec.com> which will reach the list administrator who will try to help you.

Be advised that there are additional mailing lists for discussion of the CC within specific schemes, such as cc-cmt@nist.gov within CCEVS, which might be of interest to you.

Moderation & Management

[cc@lists.atsec.com] is an unmoderated list, postings are restricted to subscribed members.

While common sense is expected to govern the usage of this list, the administrators reserve the right to take appropriate action against misuse (e.g. spam or offending behavior).

Intended Audience and Contents

The goal of [cc@lists.atsec.com] is to establish a broad forum of members that are actively involved in or just interested in learning about the application of the Common Criteria. [cc@lists.atsec.com] is not intended to discuss specific interpretations of the Common Criteria and the Common Evaluation Methodology, since this is subject of the Common Criteria Implementation and Management Board (CCIMB). It is also not intended to discuss aspects of the different national evaluation schemes. Instead aspects of the practical use of evaluation results and practical aspects how the criteria and the evaluation methodology could be enhanced in the future and embedded into the management of security within an organization are the main intended topics of this discussion list.

Not welcome is the advertising of products and services. Disagreements, flames, arguments, and off-topic discussion should be taken off-list.

Language and Message Formats

Messages to the list may be posted to cc@lists.atsec.com by all members that are subscribed to the list.

Discussions on [cc@lists.atsec.com] are held in English. Members are expected to maintain a reasonable standard of netiquette when posting to the list.

Quotings should not exceed an amount necessary to convey context. The usage of HTML is discouraged. The usage of attachments is discouraged. Vacation notifications should be avoided.
